SCUBA Lesson #3
Over half way done with scuba lessons. I really look forward to getting down to Scuba Shack each week and taking a dive in the pool, so much fun. I can not wait to dive shipwrecks and plane wrecks though. The fish will be great, but I want to see the wreck sites. I hear there are some good ones up in Lake Eerie. So lesson 3 was good. Back to our Sunday time with... [read more]

Qantas Pilot Gripe Sheet
Normally I don’t use my blog as a method of email fwd, but this was too good to pass up. And heck… its my blog so I can post whatever I want. Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane but only a high school diploma to fix one. Reassurance for those of us who fly routinely in our jobs. After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a “gripe sheet,”... [read more]

DIY Infrared/Nightvision HUE HD Webcam
Well I just made my first tutorial for a do it yourself. I took a HUE HD Webcam that I purchased from Woot! a few weeks back and modified it a little bit so that it can view infrared light. I won’t spend too much space writing the steps of the tutorial as it is posted here on my projects page. I will, however, post some pictures in hopes of enticing you to view the... [read more]

SCUBA Lesson #2
Usually the scuba lessons would be on Sundays, but for class #2, Melissa and I had to take it Wednesday night due to a Christmas choir concert I have on Sunday. This class was great, we spent the first 3 hours in or around the pool, refreshing ourselves on putting gear together and the such, then the last hour-ish in the classroom going over the books. There were two people that were making up class... [read more]

SCUBA Lesson #1
Melissa and I had our first actual scuba lesson today. After talking with David and Jess, Melissa’s brother and sister-in-law, I had a pretty solid idea what was going to happen on the first lesson, and that’s what went on. For the first 2 hours we filled out some paper work with the Instructor, watched a quick video on the hazards of scuba, and went through the first 2 sections of our text book. simple... [read more]

Headed under water
Keeping my feet on the ground just doesn’t cut it. Yesterday, I registered for SCUBA lessons at The Scuba Shack. Myself and Melissa start lessons next Sunday, 11/30/2008. We picked up our required gear and are very excited to get started. It did cost a pretty penny for initial costs, but hoping to get a little bit of that offset as I am asking for SCUBA money for Christmas. I figure I will do with... [read more]

Jenny and Tyler
Kudos to Facebook advertising. It finally got one right! I enjoy checking out the advertising on Facebook because it ‘knows’ a little bit about you. This time around, FB knew that one of my favorite bands (which is my all-time favorite) is Nickel Creek, so an advertisement for a duet called (by their real names) Jenny and Tyler. Checking out their homepage, they have a little flash player playing through some of their songs on... [read more]

What is wrong with people?
== Update - 12/22/2008 == My car was broken into last night. They busted out the back right window. They made a mess looking around the glove compartment, but looks like they only got away with my change drawer. They made $1.50 and further proves my point that Clifton sucks. == end update == I have been thinking about writing a post like this for some time, but with recent events, I decided now is... A little post-election political talk
Let’s talk a little bit about politics, shall we? First off, let’s get a few things about me, personally, out on the table. I cast my vote for Barack Obama on November 4, 2008 I am a Christian that is pro-life, so yes, I believe abortion is wrong Now that we have those two tidbits out of the way our talk can commence. During my normal daily/hourly run down of the Google News headlines, I... [read more]

Quick update
Haven’t written in seemingly forever, I know! So here’s what’s going on. I am back in Cincinnati, after a rather eventful cross-country road trip (this story might qualify a blog post of its own when more time becomes available). Classes have started up again… and it reminds me that I prefer working. But life is generally really good right now. I am excited about the Presidential elections coming to a close. I am excited about... [read more]
