Shaking Hands in Line
I hate being in a line of people where one specific person (usually a person of importance) is shaking all of our hands. It is not due to the nasty little germs being passed on to every single person shaking hands as you might initially think. And this pet peeve does not even happen every time I am in a line of people waiting to shake hands with a single person. This annoyance, if you... [read more]

Cash for Clunkers part 2
I have received a lot of response about my Cash for Clunkers post from Tuesday. In addition to the post here, I posted on Cincinnati.com (link) where I have received the most comments. I like to reply to comments if I feel it is proper. It is through these replies that I have decided to make a second part to the Cash for Clunkers posts. I really have no other opinions to add to the... [read more]

Cash for Clunkers
As all of America knows, the government currently has a Cash for Clunkers program (http://www.cars.gov) allowing people to purchase more fuel efficient cars at a discount when they trade in their used very not fuel efficient cars. Here is what the government website has to say about their program: The CAR Allowance Rebate System (CARS) is a $1 billion government program that helps consumers buy or lease a more environmentally-friendly vehicle from a participating dealer... unTypical Customer Service
When you hear the phrase ‘customer service’, honestly, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? For me it is an image of that dreaded counter at the front of retail stores where people go for complaints and returns/refunds, usually overflowing with unwanted items both broken and unwrapped. Yes, that is the customer service counter, but the actual two words: customer service, is what the folks behind the counter are suppose to be... [read more]

My Prized CD Collection
There is an empty wall in my room now. An empty shelf that has distinct dust lines. A shelf that once held one of my most prized collections. My CD’s are very important to me. Anyone that knows anything about my high school days knows that I was (and still am) in love with music, mainly classical music. Whether it be a Beethoven symphony, a Strauss tone poem, or a Mozart horn concerto, I was... [read more]

Hop and Pops
Yesterday evening, Melissa and I made jumps #8 and #9. We are both loving the sport, the experience and the drop zone. As we progress through our AFF course, we have gone through categories A - E already (E has been my favorite so far) and are working through F. F is comprised of three jumps, the first two are called hop and pops. This is when you deploy your canopy immediately after exiting the... [read more]

Natural Springs Resort - New Paris, OH
This past weekend myself and a few other people went up to Natural Springs Resort in New Paris, OH to do some Scuba diving. New Paris, OH is located just north off of I70 right along the Indiana / Ohio border which is about an hour to an hour and a half drive from the Cincinnati area. I was a bit nervous about the site, as I was not sure what the conditions would be... [read more]

Professionally Recommended
I met my recruiter in October of 2006 at a career fair at school. I submitted my application for the first time in January of 2008 and was not selected. I then submitted my application again in May of 2009, and on Monday, June 1st, I got the phone call that I was professionally recommended for the Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program for Information Warfare with the United States Navy! I am very excited, to say... [read more]

The Best of Days
When I woke up this morning, I did not realize how special of a day today would turn into. If I had known what would happen on this very day, my nerves may have kept me in bed all day long, the anticipation too much. Why, today of all days was chosen by the great unknown to be this monumental of a day for me, I do not know. Today, this morning, around 8:45 am... [read more]

Workplace Waltz
At work, I am not sure how it is even possible, but the corners of the walls between hallways seem to be especially sharp 90 degree turns. Now usually I wouldn’t imagine this being much of an issue. In fact, it gives nice and clean definition between hallways. But it is a whole new world when carrying a cup of coffee. First off, I have trouble carrying cups of coffee while walking in a straight... [read more]
